2. Logo for Radiation Assisted Materials Performance Science, a Chemistry Research group at the University of Western Ontario. Conceptually, the design represents a water molecule recoiling after being hit by a gamma photon. Water is converted to reactive species under gamma radiation, which affects materials degradation.

1. Logo for Forest City Zen Group, a Zen meditation group based in London Ontario. The design is based on a quote from the Genjo Koan, a text that is important in Soto Zen:

Enlightenment is like the moon reflected on the water. The moon does not get wet, nor is the water broken. Although its light is wide and great, the moon is reflected even in a puddle an inch wide. The whole moon and the entire sky are reflected in dewdrops on the grass, or even in one drop of water.

3. Logo for Surviving Memory in Postwar El Salvador, a project funded by Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

The logo is adapted from a concept and original painting by Miguel Mira, a Salvadoran artist. The logotype was added to match the feeling of the logo, and the overall themes and ethos of the project.

4. Logo for the CREATE Correct corrosion research project, a project funded by Canada’s Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC). CORRECT stands for Excellence in Canadian corrosion education through internationalization, equity, and interdisciplinarity.

The logo references the cycle of production of alloys through to their degradation by corrosion, and also the colours of the oxides of many metals that are produced during corrosion processes.
